Blessed To Be A Blessing

Blessed To Be A Blessing

Worship is giving God the best that He has given you.  Be careful what you do with the best you have.  Whenever you get a blessing from God, give it back to Him as a love gift. Take time to meditate before God and offer the blessings back to Him in a deliberate act of worship. If you hoard his blessings for yourself, it will turn into spiritual dry rot, just like the manna did when the Israelites hoarded it.  God will never let you hold a spiritual thing for yourself, it has to be given back to Him that He may make it a blessing to others.

Genesis 12:18                                                                                                                                     ”And he pitched his tent having Bethel on the west and Ai on the east: and there he builded an alter.”  Bethel is the symbol of communion with God; Ai is the symbol of the world.  Abraham pitched his tent between the two. The measure of worth our works have for God is the private communion we have with Him.

There is always pleanty of time to worship God.  We all try to have our quiet days with God, when all along they could be a snare.  We have to pitch our tents where we shall always have quiet times with God, however terribly noisy our time with the world may be.

We as Christians spend our spiritual life in one of these three ways;  worshiping, waiting and working.  God’s idea is that all three of them should go together.  They were always together in the life of our Lord.  It is a discipline we have to constantly work on. Our lives should constantly be an act of worship, whether we are waiting, working or worshiping.

His Birth In Me

“Therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of the shall be called the Son of God.”  (Luke 1:35)

Jesus Christ was born into this world, not from it.  He did not evolve out of history; He came into history from the outside.

Jesus Christ is not the best human being, He is the being who cannot be accounted for by the human race at all.  He is not becoming God, but God incarnate, God coming into human flesh, coming into it from the outside.  His life is the Highest and the Holiest entering in at the Lowliest door.  Our Lords birth was an advent.

“Of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you.”  (Galatians 4:19)               Just as our Lord came into human history fron the outside, so He must come into me from the outside. Have I allowed my peronal human life to become a “Bethlahem” for the Son of God?  I cannot enter into the realm of the Kindom of God unless I am born from above by a birth totally unlike natural childbirth.  “YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN”, This is not a command, it is a foundation fact.  The Characteristic of the new birth is that I yield myself completely to God that Christ is formed in me, His nature begins to work through me.

GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH — that is what is made profoundly possible for you and me by the Redemption.

Pain Equals Blessings

How often I don’t understand or comprehend your ways.                                                                                                                                                                But still I choose to trust you with the remainder of my days.                                                                                                                                                             I have come to the realize that you are only concerned with one thing,                                                                                                                                                           And that is how I live my life and the love it brings.                                                                                                                                                                            It’s not the condition of my body that is important, but my thoughts, words and intent.                                                                                                                                                            Have I reached out to those around me with the love that Jesus spent.                                                                                                                                                     My suffering is a privilege and a blessing, if it is for the cause of Christ.                                                                                                                                                             So if this pain will bring You glory then let me go through it twice.                                                                                                                                                       Not so I can be known as some great Martyr, or some famous saint,                                                                                                                                                                          because trust me, I know more than anyone, that a saint, I aint.                                                                                                                                                                But if I can lead just one to calvary, after all what else am I here for?                                                                                                                                                           So I will gladly carry this sorrow, if it means leading someone to you Lord.

Dance With Me

If I had to choose one thing in life that has had more of an impact and influence in my life  than anything else, I would have to say it has been the gift of music.  Of course God and the power of his Word has totally changed and transformed my life, but it was through the gift of his music that his Word came alive to me and that God drew me unto himself.  It was through music and it’s lyrics that I received his salvation, inspiration, encouragement, healing and his direction in so many different times and circumstances in my life.

I remember after having just came through a very painful time in my life; one time in particular, God woke me up at 2:00 in the morning asking me to dance with him.  At first I thought I was hallucinating, but then when I realized that it was indeed him, I asked him why he would wanted to dance with me. He reminded me that he loved me and how I was his bride and he was my groom and how it was natural for a groom to want to dance with his bride.  So with no more having to be said, I got out of bed and went into the kitchen and put on my favorite worship song. And there I was dancing with my savior, my groom.  I guess I don’t have to say that my life since that night has never been the same.

Waiting on God

Even though we know all the scriptures and can quote them by heart; “He will never leave us or forsake us,” and “Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world”, and there’s this one, “We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus”!   And we believe them with all our hearts.  And how many times in the past have we latched on to the truth of those words and they have carried us through some deep waters?  Lots!  And yet for some reason we still find ourselves at times, overwhelmed and overcome with the depths of despair.   We truely believed that God was leading us and orchestrated the very steps that has brought us into the midst of the very circumstances that we find ourselves regretfully apart of.  We feel so alone and afraid.  We are constantly looking around us and asking, “God where are you”?

It kind of reminds me of Noah.  Out of all the people God could have chosen, he only chose one man.  The job was indeed more than a one man job, but God only chose one man for the job, and it was Noah’s lucky day. The ridicule, the mocking and all the laughter he endured.  It wasn’t for just a day or two, It took close to one hundred years to build the ark.

We believe with all our hearts that we have heard God’s voice, and that he has called us to do a specific work and we grab our nails and hammers and we go to town, getting busy building, believing that we have met all of his specifications.  And then the rain comes!  The door is shut behind us and we wait, and we wait, and we wait some more.  It continues to rain.  When the rain finally stops, we don’t recognize anything!  Nothing is as it was before.  All our so called friends are gone.  Our family thinks we are crazy and missed God all together, and we can do nothing but wait!  There’s no window to look outside!  No warmth of the sunshine to be felt.  No sunrise or sunset to be enjoyed……  All we can do is wait!

Are you overwhelmed?  Do you feel alone, closed in, with no where to turn?  Your surrounded on all four sides and underneath?  Sometimes the answer is as simple as just looking up!  Turn your eyes away from your surrounding.  Close your eyes to your circumstances and redirect them upward!

You will be amazed at what you will see!   Don’t forget in whom you believe, and that it took a miracle for you to accomplish what it took for you to be where you are today!   And you are waiting for something that is for sure going to happen!  Another miracle!

God is getting ready to open the door to a brand new life and circumstance!  But for right now, you need to look up and see the beauty of his presence.  He is there!  He is always there!  You just have to look in the right direction to see him!

It has been quite some time since my last post.  I have spent the last several months preparing for the next chapter in my life.  I have under gone so many major changes in the past few years, I barely recognize myself.  And I’m not sure that is a bad thing.
I have always described my life with the Lord like a Roller Coaster Ride (which has always been my favorite amusement park ride).   At certain times it has me scared out of my wits and then at others parts of the ride I’m having the greatest thrill and time of my life.
Being single after 24 years of marriage takes a lot of getting use to.  Even though I know it was for the best, there have been a lot of challenges that I have had to face alone that before I would have had someone to help me get through.  You can know that a relationship has been over for a long time, but have postponed the inevitable just for the fear of thinking  you will have to go it alone.
I have found a part of me that has been suppressed and hidden for years.  A part of me that I didn’t even know still existed, along with dreams and desires that I had given up on years ago, until just recently had been buried alive.  I say “buried alive” because they have been resurrected, with the help of a loving God and the support of friends and family.
I have sung and ministered in music all my life, but  I have just in the past several months written and recorded a CD of songs that the Lord  birthed in me several years ago.  I have written numerous books and have had 3 of them published and am presently working on writing a children’s illustrated Bible.
I would have never dreamed that I would be doing these things.  I had no idea how to even begin.  I just started doing what I loved to do and then thngs just started happening so fast that I became overwhelmed and began to wonder “how in the world am I going to get it all done”?  God place a lot of wonderful new friends in my life; people who knew how to challenge and motivate me to give God my best.  They were willing to invest their time, lives and resources into my dreams and desires to the point of also making my dreams their own.  How blessed I am!
I know I am not the only one that is going through such changes.  Some of you are going through so much that you don’t know if you are coming or going.  I am here to tell you that, “You Are Not Alone!”   God has it all figured out!
In Jeremiah 29:11-14 God says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future, 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.  I will gather you from the nations and places where I have banished you,”  declares the Lord, and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
God hasn’t left or forgotten you, even though it feels like everyone else has.  The promises that were given you years ago, that you can barely catch glimpse of today are still as fresh and real to him as they were when he first placed them inside you before you were conceived in your mothers womb.  Just because you may have taken a detour or two from the road he has prepared for you, doesn’t mean he is not still there waiting for you to turn around so he can get you back on track.
We allow our selves to get distracted by our own thoughts and desires and before we know it Satan has stolen from us everything that we once held dear and true.  But God’s plans for us has never changed.  His course for us is still set!  He has a hope and a future for you; one so wonderful that you can not even begin to imagine what he has in store for you.
Are you ready?  Are you sitting down?  Are you buckled in?   Are you holding on tight?  Good!  Because you are getting ready for the ride of your life!

Fear Ye Not, Stand Still, And See The Salvation of The Lord

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

I too am very concerned about the economics of this country. It doesn’t matter which candidate is elected we are going to have hard times ahead of us. We cannot expect to not be effected personally by the economic state of this country….pay day is coming and I am hoping that everyone of you are making some kind of provisions for the future.  More importantly, if we are the Christians we say we are, and believe as we say we do, then we must make our voting for this election an extension of that, a true act of worship.

Though the Republican candidate (Mit Romney) is not perfect and far from it….He obviously stands more for our Christian Morals and Values……Vote LIFE”", We must “Vote TRUTH” and trust God with the outcome.  God said if we will exalt him above all else, we will never have to beg for bread. This whole nation is made up of individuals whom God is concerned about them personally, calling them, whooooing them, unto himself. If we, (the Christians of this nation) do not stand up and do what we have been called to do, not only is there not going to be much of a future for us, but this nation as a whole, our neighbors, sons, and daughters are all going to suffer and pay for it.

Behold The Hand Of God

If our life is to be an act of worship, then that includes our vote as well.  So many people will be voting for the candidate that they feel will give them more free handouts. Is that the Christian way? The Christian way, is to uphold the Word of God ( in word and in deed), not wavering, trusting God to meet all of our needs according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus. Even if we as Christians were the minority, “Where two or

more are gathered in my name, I am in their midst”.

In less than 3 weeks, we will all be gathering at the polls, on the same day.  Please! “GO IN HIS NAME”.  We want his presence to be there.  Make your voting an act of worship!  Take him with you!  This is a crucial time in our nation’s history and future.

I’m excited about what God is able and wanting to do in our future, but it has to happen through us! The years ahead of us are going to be difficult years, but we must look at them as an opportunity to be a witness and an example of the Awesome Love and Power of God! God is going to use us in helping those around us who are less fortunate then us.  I believe that we are going to be used to help keep our neighbors from going hungry and to have a place to keep warm, demonstrating the love and provisions God has provided us. And when they see that through us, they too will bow their knee to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Yes there are difficult times ahead of us, but at the same time, “very exciting times ahead of us”.  I’m reminded of the scripture in Exodus when Moses extends his staff and says to the Israelites, “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD.

Do you have your staff in hand?  Is it extended?  Now is the time!  If your not ready, Get Ready!  The fields are white with harvest!

Once A Mom Always A Mom

I remember when I was a young mother just like it was yesterday.                                           All three of my kids, young and still living at home, running around
the house, the neighborhood, the church, the grocery store ,the beauty shop,
the courthouse. Yes, you heard me correctly, I said the court house.

You know how there is always one of your kids that seems to try
you the most? Well you won’t believe some of the things my youngest                                  did when he was still at home, even though he knew better and he knew                          there was going to be consequences. It was as if he just couldn’t help himself.      Everything had to be fun for him.  It was as if he lived on stage.                                         Some of the crimes he committed were actually quite genius but again disturbing.
He would get away with so many things, just because he was cute and could make you laugh. I mean you could actually catch him in the act, and by the time he was finished
arguing his case, he had you doubting your own sanity. He drove me nuts!                          He made Ferris Bueller look like a saint!

My Three Stooges

Let me give you an example;  He would never pay his way into Kings Island.
Somehow he always got in free.  All the other kids would be standing in the long line anxiously waiting their turn to get in and before they knew it he would have climbed on top of the entrance gate from the inside, waving to them with this huge smile on his face, announcing “Look I did it again”!  Even knowing word was going to get back to me and there was going to be consequences.  He just couldn’t help himself.                                           I would ask him how and why he did it, and he would just say, “Awe Mom do you really want to know?”  Then the last time he was at Kings Island he was kicked out of one of their
candy stores and the Park for getting caught eating their giant gummy bear display.   Now you have to admit, that was funny.  Life with that boy was like being on a never ending Roller Coaster.

Well he’s 24 now and has lived on his own for a few years and
I am sitting here with butter fly’s in my stomach, waiting for his arrival.                               For the first time in a long time all three of my children will be home with me.                    We will sit around the kitchen table and I will watch and listen as they laugh, yell, scream   and also cry as they reminisce over their childhood memories.  I can’t wait!  What wonderful Kids!  I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’m inviting you to share one of your stories with me.  Mom to Mom

A Mother’s Birthday Wishes For Her Daughter

Another year with you in my life,                                                                                   Has been nothing short of a gift.                                                                                   I celebrate every day that God                                                                                   allows me to share it with you                                                                          The roads we have traveled together,                                                                         have not always been roads we would have chosen for ourselves,                  But they have been roads that have brought us                                                   to where we are today.                                                                                                      And I would not want to be anywhere else, except here with you

Friends Forever

You’re the love and joy in my life.                                                                          You are truly a gift from above.                                                                            When I feel alone and forsaken, and wondering if He is really there.      All I have to do is see your beautiful smile and then I’m reminded of how much he cares                                                                                                         May today be a day of renewed hope and dreams for your future.
May you be in the forth coming year as happy and blessed as you deserve.
May you accomplish all you desire to accomplish.                                                Your are as beautiful as you are blessed

Making A Difference In The Life Of A Child

So many things you wanted to say.                                                                                                    So many things you wanted to do,                                                                                                     To make the difference in the life of a child.                                                                                     Your child.

So many things left unsaid,                                                                                                                So many things left undone                                                                                                                 To make the difference in the life of child                                                                                   Your child.

Some would call it neglect.                                                                                                            Some would call it ignorance.                                                                                                            To make the difference in the life of a child.                                                                                     Your child.

I would call it helplessness, mistakes, extreme measures,                                                        But definitely love.                                                                                                                                    To make the difference in the life of a child.                                                                                     Your child.

I know you don’t feel very successful as a parent.                                                                        But your love is without question.                                                                                                       To make the difference in the life of a child.                                                                                     Your child.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.                                                                                          Lean not unto your own understanding.                                                                                          To make the difference in the life of a child.                                                                                     Your child.                                                                                                                                            Our child.
